The optics look bad because of the implied cluelessness, but the point of environmentally friendly cars that are more efficient and with less emissions isn’t to outlaw performance cars or stop making them.

Thank you for the correct reaction.

Yup. Every construction company, car shop, trade shop, warehouse, factory, etc. has been doing this to the new guy for eons. It was tried on me at my first job, but I didn’t fall for it.

Absolutely. notanother, you couldn’t have hit the nail on the head better, and the protection-ism being practiced by the commenters, above, is shameful and harming.

I’m truly amazed at how so many are offended by this.

I was embarrassed as hell when the older guys did those pranks on me too. It’s not a female thing. Trying to make this a feminism thing is just so far fetched it’s not even funny.

Wait, so parents can literally never joke with their kids under your premise of punching down? LOL. My childhood would have been boring as fuck had my dad not made funny jokes regularly, occasionally at my expense.

We always give the new interns instructions to go to a computer parts store and ask for an “HDD fixing hammer”. Sometimes we give them my car toolbox (which is, by the way, massive as I own an old 90's Toyota Hilux) and ask them to take it down to the reception (we work on an 8-floor store) but “no using the elevator

While finishing up college I worked at an aircraft repair and modification shop on an airport that catered to private and corporate airplanes. There was a running joke around the entire airport that if someone shows up asking for “a vortex generator”, they were new. Since the person rarely knew what a vortex generator

Amen. I’m totally baffled how this communicative, light-hearted family is being called an example of “bullying.” I still tell the story of how I got had by my uncle, who sent me to fetch a left-handed smoke shifter and a bacon stretcher...

When I worked at Autozone I had a customer call and ask for parts for what he insisted was a 1985 “Gooley.”

You got it-this is family!

Agreed. The dad wasnt being sexist, he was having a light hearted joke with his daughters. Nothing more, nothing less.

I found my burner account info just to agree with you both.

If they were sons would your feelings be hurt too?

Exactly, Mr. Relevant username. Calling this bullying is utterly ridiculous.

Pretty sweet strawman you built. You are also spot on with the manipulative language.

I was 30 before I found out liquid smoke is a real thing and you can put it in food. Still not sure you should, though.

where is the line between ‘bullying’ and ‘joke’? seems like every joke these days is labeled as bullying to the point that we have to be in constant fear of being labeled bullies for every single little thing.

“Bullying”? That’s idiotic. It undermines the problem of actual bullying when you throw nonsense like that around, willy nilly.
