More accurately put, Deadspin is jealous that Barstool won the bidding wars for PFT Commenter. Barstool isn’t the reason PFT Commenter brings the funny. Just like SNL wasn’t the reason Eddie Murphy was hilarious in the 80's.

In all honesty, PMTake was the podcast that made me start moving away from being an avid follower of Deadspin (which I still follow too btw). The negativity on Deadspin is contrasted perfectly by the self deprecating and many times brilliant humor of Pardon my Take. I hope Deadspin can follow the Barstool model and…

This post comes off incredibly petty and sophomoric, not to mention jealous as hell. PMT is fantastic, whatever your opinions of Barstool as a whole are - and that goes for both PFT and Big Cat. The fact that 95% of the content is satirical apparently goes over some people’s heads.

I mean, PFT Commentor actually came out of Kissing Suzy Kolber and went to Barstool when uproxx killed that.

I like how Tom Ley either deleted his comment or buried the thread where he got absolutely owned trying to equate PMT to Barstool and then got called out for Deadspin then being associated with everything Gawker. Too bad it’s gone, maybe the biggest “pot calling the kettle black” I’ve ever seen.

So what happened to Tom Ley’s lame comment defending this?

The moral superiority of Deadspin commenters always makes me laugh out loud.

Pardon My Take is one of the most successful sports podcasts out there, and if you aren’t listening to it 3x a week, you are missing out. They have great guests and are really witty. The guests are surprisingly high profile and you can tell they are having fun with Dan and PFT. Heck, my wife even loves the show.

Trying anything: attempting to capture the audience of a podcast that is almost universally loved (except by those at Deadpsin, because Deadspin is too cool to like popular things and hates everything fun).

They are just looking for someone more cultured.
