I’ve been an Archer fan for a long time, but didn’t start watching Bob’s until last fall. For some reason, I assumed it would be like Family Guy, which I’m not crazy about, so I didn’t watch it. Was pleasantly surprised that it managed to be laugh-out-loud funny AND full of really sweet moments and characters that

I’m from a smaller, neighboring county (Fort Bend) that has to deal with the consequences of whatever’s happening in Harris County, and I will say that it’s not surprising that the Houston Chronicle endorsed Emmett- he was actually good at the job, at least the most visible part, emergency management. Which is a big

I grew up in Houston and now live in DC, so there’s always been a pretty limited window where I could wear wool without being miserable, and therefore I have like 1 Smartwool sweater and that’s it. Does washing wool at home work for things like pants? That, for whatever reason, seems trickier to me.

I think other people have commented that they mostly had the pull-tab cans before that day, and I also think Bean Dad mentioned in the thread that there wasn’t much other food in the house.

I saw so many Bean Dad supporters in his replies like “give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day. teach a man to fish and he’ll eat for a lifetime” or words to that effect.

I’ve been washing all my clothes, including silk, together on the delicate cycle, with cold water, for the 10 years I’ve been in charge of doing my own laundry, and nothing bad has ever happened.

Yeah, my mom always did all the laundry for our (2 adult 2 kid) household when I was growing up. By the time I was in high school (and was kind of a shit about doing chores, which I didn’t even have that many of) my dad kind of used laundry as a weird threat? Like “just wait til you go to college and you’ll have to

He did not. And that’s the one “my kids were a pain in the ass” story my parents have that’s about my sister. All the other ones were about me.

Yeah, my parents were a far cry from Bean Dad, but they only ever made one meal for dinner, for everyone.

Thinking she meant “please kill me” is... a real stretch. Not sure how you’re getting that.

Yeah, I don’t necessarily disagree with all the criticism here, but in spite of all of that I thought it was a really fun watch. And I liked that they didn’t go for a twist ending, and the person who killed her was just the married lover who was at her studio that night and ran away the next day. Not the main

I’ve heard the book is almost completely different from the show after, like, partway through the 2nd episode.

Seth’s the only late-night show I watch (clips of on youtube the next day) regularly. His Closer Look bits are really good, and have been for a long time. Also Amber Ruffin (who has her own show now but I think is still a writer for Seth?) is great. And there hasn’t been a new one since the pandemic, but the Day

I thought this episode was pretty meh, but really enjoyed the season as a whole, and wish it was more than 8 episodes. Everyone who stepped in to fill Adam Reed’s shoes did a wonderful job, and I’m glad we get at least another season of this.

Or she just has curly hair. I can get mine to look like that pretty easily, and sometimes do it on purpose depending on what the weather’s like (too much humidity can take the whole thing truly overboard)

If you’re liking this one so far, highly recommend Big Little Lies. Similar vibe but in California and also Nicole Kidman is excellent in it. The first season is perfect. Second’s only okay, but definitely watch the first.

Oh, that’s interesting. I’m like 90% sure Elena’s husband isn’t the father of her baby, mostly because the baby looks white with light hair (I know genetics can be weird, but I feel like for tv they usually have babies look like their tv parents). But I was thinking it would turn out to be Hugh Grant’s kid because

I splurged for a Capri Blue Spiced Cider candle and my room smells so delicious right now.

Yeah, white women aren’t blameless and deserve criticism for voting against their interests as women in order to preserve their privilege as white people, perpetuating racism, etc. And I’ll admit a big chunk of my brain still reacts to legitimate criticism of white women with “well *I* don’t do that!”, which isn’t

So it feels important to point out that Welker didn’t have control of the mute button. Also, did 100x better than Chris Wallace. But she did definitely let Trump steamroll over the time limits and could have probably done better calling out some of the more obvious ridiculousness. Overall, though, I thought she did
