Actually, it is. Lots of Hispanics, mostly of Mexican descent, live in the Skagit Valley area. It’s a very agricultural economy here. Many families came here to work in the fields and decided to settle here. I’ve tutored a lot of their children in English.

Actually, there is a huge Latino population in Burlington. (I’m assuming you know this took place in Burlington, WA, not Vermont...)
