Most people who die to ebola are actually taken out by some sort of 3rd party disease or illness, not ebola itself. These secondary infections are far harder to prevent in poor/underfunded nations.

I totally get a desire to make sure that your country's poor are able to eat, but making it so food producers can't make a profit doesn't exactly seem to be accomplishing that. If that's a goal a government wants to fulfill, the government in question really needs to foot the bill.
