It’s obvious that Netflix doesn’t “choose” to drop films or TV shows. Either the licensing gets too high or some other corporation gets an exclusive deal.

Netflix did not “get rid of” Dr Who. The producers cut a deal with Amazon Prime.

Shows will often move from Netflix to Amazon Prime. Fine for me! Others seem to have been “pulled” for a streaming service in the planning stages. Which sucks.

I’m American but love a few Canadian shows. Which is why I’ve got DVD’s of Due South, Twitch City and Slings & Arrows.

I’ve had Amazon Prime for years—for the quick free shipping. So their video content is a bonus for me. I’ve sprung for their “extra” channels: Currently, Starz for Evil Dead (and a few good movies) and Acorn for Brit TV. And I occasionally purchase a film or series: Agent Carter forever!

Elementary is a knockoff. CBS wanted Moffatt to produced a version of Sherlock for American TV but he refused. (Probably just didn’t have time.) So CBS went ahead—since most of the stories are in the public domain. I’ve never watched it, although I’ve heard it’s improved.
