Civilization does have its good points....
Bright lights, big city!
I remember seeing the Milky Way above our home, south of Houston. Many years ago—before NASA & its supporting development sprouted on the deserted coastal prairie.
So, condemn the movie without even reading a review. And vote for Donald Trump.
I didn’t see that one but it was a remake of The Women—a 1939 classic with an all-female cast. Witty & bitchy & funny.
BigBlock’s grandpa died at Auschwitz. He broke his neck falling out of a guard tower!
Most Geology majors I knew went to work in the Oil Business....
Peggy would make a pretty good Valkyrie...
Using “SJW” doesn’t brand you as an evil misogynist. Just a pathetic dweeb who can’t get a date.
Heinlein contracted TB after graduating from the Naval Academy. He recovered but was a civilian for the rest of his life. He never served in combat & the combat he trained for was not the infantry.
I had something else to do that night; figured I’d catch it on Hulu. (In Season 1, I would not have had anything better.)
I hated Season 2 at the time, but it had a more spectacular badness. John Noble chewing the scenery! Neil Jackson looking fine in 18th century attire—even though a Whipped Horseman did the plot no good.
As a White Chick, I regard Katrina & Betsy Ross as Insults to White Chicks! There were are few good ones killed off too soon—they weren’t needed as principle players but could have stuck around as interesting dwellers in Sleepy Hollow. Like the Witch Librarian. Or the maker of 18th century garb....

One reason: POI is not “owned” by CBS. So CBS would not profit as much by its continued success. (I heard the showrunners had 6 seasons planned & resent every episode we’ll miss because of this short season. Yes, even “filler” episodes.)
The article explains they’ve found about a dozen skeletons. Ancient Romans cremated their dead. Whose bodies are those? Practices did change over the centuries.
There’s a subway station in Mexico City that displays what was discovered when the subway was dug. (Lots of ancient stuff under that city.)
Most WWI remains (British, especially) were buried near where they died. There were so many that it would have been a huge project to bring them all “home.” Of course, some families could have easily afforded it—and many upper class officers served & died. But it would have been unfair. So they all stayed—except for a…
Amazon Prime has some episodes of “Time Team”—in which Baldric from Blackadder visits quick archaeology digs. (Really, they just scratch the surface. But they get info for later digs—and it’s a good idea not to excavate everything—because a totally excavated site has been destroyed & future archaeologists will always…
