Because, as stated, the little guys don’t have the ability to enforce their rights, making them, in effect, moot.
You’re like some small business owner thinking that the GOP is the party who looks out for his interests, then.
Show me one example of an independent songwriter suing a major record label for copyright infringement and winning.
OP is technically correct, which is of course the best kind.
Lol, fucking obvious idiot is obviously an idiot. Fuck your rights holders and how the labels have used their weight to crush any kind of evolution of the delivery of music. Eat my hairy ass while I continue to pirate your shit, not because I listen to it but only because I can.
Yes, I was making fun of that childish idealism which flies in the face of reality. Good catch. Gold star for reading comprehension.
Because the big labels can make or break the rules of the game as they see fit, while indies either scamper out of the way when the lawyers come out or get crushed like bugs. Copyright law doesn’t “protect” anyone except the major labels and their armies of lawyers.
The tiniest indie label has the same rights and ownership as the big labels & publishers
We’re kinda back at the beginning where we downloaded MP3s from the web, then the crackdown began, and we migrated to P2P services. Stuff like Soundcloud came along and we used it, but now there’s another crackdown and we’ll migrate back to P2P. Will the recording industry ever learn?
