I've always wondered what they did with the ambulance afterward, though the answer most likely is simply that they sold it first chance they got.

I've wondered sometimes about Mal leaving Jayne alone with the Tams in this episode.  That shows a good deal of trust, considering both Jayne's usual attitude toward them, and River's attack in this episode.  I'd think maybe he'd have left Zoe with the Tams and kept Jayne where he could see him, unless maybe he didn't

I'd say incompetent.  The dialogue indicates there was a drug interaction that the other doctor hadn't taken into account, but should have.

Something that occurred to me on this viewing:  The HoB's are so quick to kill anyone that spoke with the Tams that they fail to collect information that might have helped them track them, like, say, the name "Jayne Cobb."  I'm not sure whether to view this as a mistake on their part, or whether it simply indicates

I've always said that a show that could be this good in its first season would have probably given us an amazing second season.  I've mostly gotten over it by now, but I still think it's true.
