Honestly, I can't get mad about this. Her party was well-behaved and didn't cause trouble for the servers? She left an appropriately generous tip? That's all fine by me. Of course, being in a position to spend that much on booze is a bit beyond my comprehension, but it's not like she'd be less ridiculously wealthy

The sad thing about the "Ice Girl" one is that it's much less sexy than the actual dress (it was far from the perfect film, but I actually liked how Frozen let Elsa be a bit foxy as part of her growing-up and transformation).
The rest are just sad. There aren't nearly enough pom pom on that cape.

Apparently the Mitford sisters (Diana and Unity, that is) were Rowling's inspiration for that character!

Oh I totally agree. I think that's why Diana always claimed to be a little underwhelmed by Hitler- he wasn't really "their kind of people" or some such.
I mean, it would be easier to think Unity was either completely evil or completely unhinged. I think she was probably a good bit of both.

Not just the aristocrats, either- Mosely's party won three ward seats in the East End in the mid 30s. I don't think anyone particularly cared that Unity was anti-Semitic or fascist, I think it was the fact that she was so public about it all that was "shocking-" the fact that a girl from a "good" family would allow

Apparently she was also conceived in a Canadian town called Swastika.
I mean, I don't even know what that's about.

I actually like the dress, though it looks vastly better when she's standing still than moving. I don't like the hair with it though- that weird, "What Katy Did" long ribbon she's used to tie it is all wrong. She should have had some kind of enormous bouffant updo to balance out the length.

Yep, and I've no doubt that's how it was originally intended. But I've seen that quotation used waaaaay too many times by people who just don't want to be called on the fact they've just been flagrantly racist, sexist, or just plain mean.

Yeah, I don't ever remember a time when being a feminist was an uncontested position that some women didn't shy away from using.

Yes, I'm always curious too. Partly because sometimes I don't think I can really call myself a feminist unless I'm actively doing something in the aid of gender equality. I'm progressive in my daily life, sure, and I try to take a stand whenever I can, but I don't do as much as I could.

Nah. This has been the prevailing attitude among many younger women since I can remember. It just seems more prevalent now 'cos of t'internet. Even back in the 90s with "girl power"and Riot grrrl going on, you wouldn't struggle to find young women distancing themselves from feminism either because they genuinely

My personal non-favorite is "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." Ugh, you just wanted an excuse to be a total dick, didn't you?

I think, as Opheella below says, the lifestyles of a lot of celebrities means they're prehaps slightly more likely to take them. In addition to the relationship factor mentioned, these are women whose careers do depend a lot on their appearance on camera. I haven't seen the pictures, but I wouldn't be surprised if a

I think the thing is that stories like this have just become so very, very common. It's easy to say "Just don't take naked pictures! Why would anyone do something so stupid!" when it doesn't happen all that much, because you can easily use that rationale to dismiss the issue as an outlier. I see the same thing

I have no idea how anyone could watch that scene and conclude anything other than that this is Olivia kicking ass and taking names. I remember watching that episode doing an air-punch, because finally she was calling Fitz's petulant, childish fuckery. Calling it a "rant" is so massively wrong that I feel like she must

I never watched a whole lot of Grey's Anatomy, but I LOVED Bailey. She was frankly the most professional person on that bloody show.

Yeah, this is how I feel about it. I'm sure I'd be pissed at the violation, and I'd be embarrassed because of that. I don't think I would feel particularly ashamed. I'd be very, very concerned about losing my job and being unable to get another one.\

I typically love her hair (she has a great face for shorter cuts), but it looks like a complete mess here. It looks like they blow-dried the bangs forward instead of sweeping them over, then straightened it, then hair sprayed it...it's not good.

So flippin' rude! You've got to wonder what goes on in people's heads...

I too share your affection for her. She's played the hand that life dealt her to the absolute max, and that she seems genuinely to be in absolute love with fashion is very endearing. Plus, even though a lot of her looks seem ridiculous in retrospect, this is a woman who has been consistently on the fashion zeitgeist
