The W123, especially in estate/wagon form is still the choice of vehicle for many large estate holders in the UK. If I see one of those on the road, I’m wondering how much of the country they own, but I suspect that this doesn’t work in the USA!

I’ve got the auto in my 3 hatchback, (I know, I know,) and I find it easily one of the best I’ve ever driven. It shifts they way I would. No need for manual mode.

There’s also a version of the Skyactiv 6AT for high-torque apps as well, up to 340lbft. I don’t know what they’ve ever used it in, but when they unveiled the Skyactiv platform in 2011, there were two ATs - one for normal applications, one for high power.
