Right!? And regardless of that insult, what a stupid thing to say. Of course on of the series’ entries would be considered the best. “We’ve yet to see its best” is just a dumb way to phrase it. It’s like they’re saying “We’ve yet to have a good movie” and I’d tell them to fuck right off for that, too.

Probably also because it was directed by Mr. Top Gun himself, Tony Scott. What’s interesting to me is that Top Gun barely evinces Scott’s trademark slick, shiny, bright lights and blue steel style; that really started with BHC2 and went into coked-up overdrive with The Last Boy Scout and True Romance. (Think a cool

“...but we’ve yet to see its best.”

Filling that cylinder is what killed him.

I showed BHC to my kids a couple of years ago, which was also the first time I’d watched it in probably 20 years. It mostly held up, but I was struck by how low-key the movie is. There’s really not a lot of action scenes, and the climax is pretty mild, even by ‘80s standards. I loved it as a kid (we saw it in the

“We’ve yet to see its best” and saying that Beverly Hills Cop isn’t one of the best action-comedies of all-time is... certainly an opinion. It’s one of the best action-comedies ever made, plain and simple.

a pretty big Con, considering one of her kids conceived with his sperm ended up dying of an overdose.

It won’t though.  Death Metal bands(which are mostly white guys) have been singing extremely violent lyrics for as long as rap has been throwing down and other then a bit of the old Satanic panic, its mostly been ignored by the mainstream news and by any authorities

for real.
those kinds of rulings are only meant to happen in US/Euro-backed foreign dictatorships and puppet democracies, dammit!

If those assholes get back into office, prepare to write hundreds of variations on that comment. People are not grasping what it means. Yesterday’s Supreme Court decision is the most significant event in this country since 9-11, and possibly the most significant since the onset of the Civil War.

Now playing

Can’t assassinate a dead man, but he can lyrically assassinate you!

“I leave my iPod Nano, full of music to take life less seriously by.”

“I may not agree with your speech, but I will hold it against you in a court of law.”

B.G. can’t casually hang out with people who have a felony, but the President can order assassinations and coups against US citizens as “official acts” and enjoy complete immunity. #America2024

America has lost its collective fucking mind.

i am genuinely waiting for the other shoe to drop when it comes to stuff like youtube. i do not think permanent, unlimited, free video hosting in perpetuity is sustainable.

They’re going to find out, or re-find out, what actually draws people to participate in their wallet-emptying schemes then. That older content wasn’t just sitting unwatched.  It was additional incentive to buy in.

I think the gain is just server space, whether it’s for Paramount+ or just their more recent shows. It costs money to host stuff on a website and people probably aren’t watching those older shows anymore (or at least nearly as much). It’s just a large scale corporate version of the way you probably overwrite old stuff

Having worked at a few places equivalent to CC I could tell you that yes, people back up their work, I mean Comedy Central will have digibetas or HD Cam tapes of every one of their shows kept in a vault somewhere... But it’s pretty likely the public is never going to be able to see it now.

I think I still have a hard drive with old torrented Daily Show episodes somewhere... which I found in the woods and totally didn’t download myself, of course.
