Paul McCartney has a left handed piano? How does that work?
I feel like you have to really force it to read that as implying that Swift doesn’t play live.
My wife loves her and has a (lengthy) playlist she’ll run while we’re doing stuff around the house, and when you listen to her history of hits all stacked up it really does get repetitive. It can be funny in smaller doses, her takedown songs are entertaining, but at this point in her career I can’t see her relying on…
Agreed. I can see how an aggressive fan could take it as a dig towards Swift, but I read it as Grohl using the massive cultural phenomenon that is the Eras Tour as a jumping off point for his own musings. I’d take the “we actually play live” as being in comparison to pop in general (or other older rock bands?) before…
I don’t think the issue is with him really at all. He seems charmingly self deprecating. The problem, if there even is a problem, is with fans who don’t understand how pop music is put together and why that would mean a TS concert is constructed very differently from your average guitar + drums + bass rock concert.
It’s amazing that the fandom of Swift, one of the most popular, rich, and powerful people in pop-culture, relies almost entirely on seeing her as a victim or at least constantly in danger of being victimized.
It’s surprising for Grohl to be throwing such obvious shade Swift’s way, first because he’s clearly aware of the consequences of “the wrath of Taylor Swift,” and second because the pair have always been friendly in the past.
According to his fans, it all started when his daughter, Violet Grohl, criticized Taylor for using her private jet, which led to backlash from the Swifties. Let’s dive into this interesting discussion.
I describe libertarians as “Republicans who realize homophobia isn’t cool anymore.”
I always hated his Jiminy Glick schtick, but it was ok here and he had some good cuts on Bill Maher. Below is a compilation of clips of Martin Short making fun of Steve Martin that shows just how great he would have been as a “Don Rickles-type” insult comic. But at least with these you know that Marty loves Steve…
It’s *extremely* akin to any video thumbnail or comment that “explains” why Walter White is a badass. Not that Costner’s performance matches Cranston’s (and to be fair, not many would), but you’re definitely supposed to understand he’s at BEST a bad person.
Is that supposed to be a hard question to answer?
Maher really does some some interesting guests on occasionally but him being in the same room asking the questions was enough to finally drive me away from his HBO show in..2017-ish? I don’t really remember but it made me angry enough at the TV that I had to quit watching it.
I’ve said for years that he, along with Keith Olbermann and Michael Moore, are the leaders of the “Get off my side” brigade.
Nah, that’s pretty much it.
It’s more him being one part Cowboy Yoda and one part Cattle Baron Palpatine.
Most of the bad-ass scenes are Cole Hauser punching someone or Kelly Reilly snarking bad dialogue.
Just make the presenter start with, “Gender is a social construct, but that said, the award goes to...”
I think people are worried about men winning both awards.
