It’s not really a 70mm film, though. It was shot on digital and transferred to 70mm film. They used one of the best digital cameras possible and it will still look gorgeous on the big screen, but it’s lot closer to 4k (actually 6.5k) than 18k.

Roma was shot on an alexa65 digital camera. Converting, then projecting it to film is the equivalent of recording an album on a laptop, and pressing it on vinyl. Im fine with people nostalgia whacking themselves off with analog formats, but this just seems dumb.

Um they were never employed by blizzard so the tv / film analogy is not valid in anyway whatsoever.  Unions are formed to protect directly employed people from those that directly employ them.  This is not that.  These people were morons for asusming this income stream had any longevity.

And in nearly every case that you cite - each guild is actually employed by the content creators or distributors. Pretty sure most of these people they are speaking to are not legally entwined with Blizzard, so they are going to have zero leverage in bargaining - since there isnt even an actual agreement in place.

I think it’s a bit of a misnomer to say that if you make a ton of money, you’re paying Valve less than someone making less money. *Percentage-wise* you’re paying less, but if you’re pulling in $50M you’re still paying Valve significantly more dollars than someone making $20k. It doesn’t happen as often with Apple, but it still does. It all comes down to whether you want to trust yourself to be sensible about your downloads, or trust the operating system.
