There will be design compromises associated with making the battery pack come out.... which you most certainly need for them to be swappable and you most certainly DO NOT want in a crash.

I am less than impressed with this story. It seems that “rumors” have went around that the test dummy was “killed”. That literally sounds like information from someone who knows virtually nothing about how test dummy data works.

With the side intrusion standards and vehicle packaging these days, I doubt there is actual ROOM in the door to put a manual window crank mechanism. On top of that, it probably weighs more.
