Having grown up with a '59 Bel-Air as the first car I ever rode in (and which my folks drove until buying a new '72 Impala), I feel obligated to point out for the benefit of future generations that the area beneath the fins on the '59 was always collecting dirt (especially if you traveled dirt/gravel roads). The

Unless Modernista! is taking over the Buick account, this doesn't make sense.

Looks like you can mark the Mercedes SL63 AMG off the list...

I used to have my personal "Buick LeSabre" rule, which stated I wouldn't spend any more money on a new car than a nicely loaded new Buick LeSabre would list for. However, now that the LeSabre is gone, and was sort of replaced with the Lacrosse, but now there's a new Lacrosse that's more expensive/upscale, and the

Speaking of auctions, surely there's some Jalop out there who'd like this:

@Number_Six: They're still around, but fewer and farther between as the years pass.

@GreenN_Gold: I did the same thing on the center hump of our '59 Bel-Air, until I got too tall and would crack the dome light cover with my head when we'd hit a big bump. I still don't understand how I have clear, vivid memories of test driving a Brat as well as a VW GTI numerous time in the fall of '84, but wound up buying a Buick Skyhawk instead. Must have happened when I got my parents involved.

You can be buried in a car, but you can't drive a casket!

How could he have gotten hurt, he was wearing a belt AND suspenders? How much safer can you get!

Well, it doesn't compare to the Honda Crosstour.

That's the problem with living in the 'burbs, you're always trying to keep up with the Joneses...in this case, the George Joneses.

@tempesjo: Too bad they didn't stick with your original grill design.

The government just wants to get the major gas guzzlers off the street, so in a few years when they jack up the gas tax, they can say it's because cars are so fuel efficient we're not burning as much gas as we used to, but we're still wearing the roads out. That's been the goal all along, but better to make the evil
