While I am sure folks did buy some BEVs, I doubt that made up for the decreased demand. In most cases, people just stopped driving. People canceled vacations, skipped trips, and probably trips to the grocery store.

Given EVs are a low single digit percentage of new car sales, and new cars are a tiny percentage of the vehicles on the road (and EVs are an even smaller percentage of existing cars), er, no, not even remotely a factor at this point.

BEVs are probably a contributing factor but I don’t think they’ve reached a point where BEVs are a significant factor in fuel prices. In similar vein that’s like saying high performance vehicles are primarily responsible for high gas prices when they aren’t.
