I’m too old and jaded to care about these awards the way I used to, but when Joaquin choked up before he started talking about River I also found myself tearing up. One of those moments where all the trappings of Hollywood seem to wash away. 

I will maintain to my dying die that There Will be blood was the best picture on 2007, but I have no issue with the Coen brothers beating it.
