I can appreciate that. I’ve never found the MCU to be deep, but I have, maybe 95% of the time, found the films highly satisfying/entertaining. The D+ series are a bit of a different ballpark; too often they end just as things are getting intriguing, or very simply put, they forego interesting ideas for fights. And I

I might be getting too old for these series. I think the casting here is genuinely great, and the characters frequently compelling (I particularly liked the father and Nakia). But the story feels so predictable and safe (?), and I’ve seen coming of age tales so many different ways over many decades, I think either

This is good news; so far this has been one of my favorite shows of 2022. A shame you once again choose not to do regular coverage of a quality program.

I found a coherent summary of season 3 on Polygon that helped immensely. Some of it didn’t make sense, but it was helpful.

Leaning into the cringey glee is embarrassing. But this...FFS...

Probably...I’ve been reading more of the other sites these days. It all blurs...

I could swear y’all did this same story yesterday with a slightly different picture and headline.

Would you give her a pass if the main character was a person of color? Doubtful. Not sure what your point is. When writing about NOPE do you specify “black” ranchers?

To avoid the creeping nightmare fuel of a shot like that I just consider whether it was done digitally or if some dude was on top of the car and rolled a fake head down, the image of which amuses me to the point of almost forgetting said fuel.

That’s pretty fucking funny. And still creepy as hell.

I always thought “Darth” was a title within the SW universe...Darth Vader, Darth Sidius, Darth Maul.

Nice that in the same week we get MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS and FLUX GOURMET. That feels balanced.

FFS, that looks insufferable.

It’s nothing like Observe and Report.

Never expected the Equalizer Cinematic Universe to be a thing, but hey, good for them.

As far as Carmichael’s 2022 goes, you forgot to mention his film, On The Count Of Three, was released a month or so back. It’s a great film with two strong lead performances (that will likely be overlooked due to its quiet release...but is absolutely worth the watch).

This show is about 5% cool scenes and 95% ridiculous contrivances”

Isn’t Bradley Cooper the one who some prominent actors (I can only think of Pitt) have said got them to sober up? To make that change is impressive, but to share it with others seems admirable.

Whether it succeeds or fails, don’t we want - if they must remake stories at all - for filmmakers to not “simply remake” them?

Ah, yes, you covered seven years of Legends while ignoring coverage of countless better series, and films. You certainly have been “building spaces”, AV Club.
