Thanks for saying so. It remains on my Distant Maybe list. ;-)

Pleased to hear that. Because of no release in my city, I’ve had to wait until it arrives on Prime next month.
As a massive fan of IDA, my hope is that COLD WAR deserves all that praise and wins ... something.
Let’s begin with: Family Dollar sounds like a shitball operation.
What if everyone so willing to give their money to art-edit projects decided to put that money and effort and irritable determination and sheer force of will into useful, beneficial changes in the world. We might not get far, but we’d be headed in the right direction.
First off, disliking something doesn’t mean I’m upset. Second, being well-made and entertaining goes a long way. But, we already knew there were going to be multiple films in those cases. I haven’t read anything prior to its release that Alita was going to be a series.
Funny that you say that, because I have really enjoyed most of Rodriguez’s non-Spy Kids films. So he was not a factor I assumed would be problematic.
One of several things I disliked about the film was that it ends on a clear note of “no, you don’t get resolution to the root cause of everything, because we’re gonna make a sequel!” And I kind of hope that it goes the way of THE GOLDEN COMPASS and never materializes. It wasn’t that good. Also, this raises my…
I assumed it was some top-notch photoshopping.
I’m 54 and I saw that pic and thought, fuckin’ old asshole.
Love it when billionaire filmmakers shit on other films. Prick.
So I guess I’m the only one who thinks this looks insufferable?

I haven’t flown in decades, and such offerings would keep me grounded, certainly.
As much as I enjoy these things, I don’t have a problem with this.
QUATERMASS AND THE PIT is an all-time favorite that holds up to this day. And Andrew Keir, who I don’t believe I’ve seen in anything else, is outstandingly cranky. It’s a shame though: that trailer shows way too much. Just watch the film cold.
In Soviet Russia, toddler save bear!
Well, I said deserved. *I* thought Washington was amazing in that. I agree, it wasn’t a critical favorite.
Without Gyllenhaal in NIGHTCRAWLER or Washington in ROMAN, neither of those films would have deserved much acclaim. The performances drive the films.
You’re reading a lot into McAvoy’s feelings about the show. Perfunctory? Not into it? He seemed to me to be having a good time, and the energy of the episode felt higher than average. A lot of repetition, yes. But almost every bit worked on its own.
