The two things I walked away from S2 with: 1) I really liked the Pilgrim character, though if it was from comics I’d never heard of him before; and the actor was quite good. 2) The show really squanders Bernthal’s talents with its writing, which does not serve any of the talent well. But, hey, I guess it will be

Or heavy makeup. I love Bale’s chances this year, because he really sank into that role. Last year’s Oldman win? Not so much love for that one.

Thanks for this. She was so goddam delightful in that film.

Just saw the trailer for WOMAN AT WAR, which looks great. Thanks for including some smaller/foreign/eclectic flicks like HIGH LIFE.

FWIW:

This just feeds into my disdain for people who can actually get major motion pictures made and choose to do sequels, reboots, “for the fans” efforts, when they might dig through the pile of scripts and make something wholly original.

I don’t mind a feel-good film and I dig Cranston’s talent most of the time. But as I get older and life gets harder due to a lack of money, I find it increasingly difficult to stomach stories where people with wealth have it so hard, and people without have their problems solved by hooking up with said wealthy

I think it would have been a nice gesture for Malek, at least, to give a small nod to Dexter Fletcher for helping wrap the film.

So, did we legit hear nothing from Lawrence after RED SPARROW passed, until this story on 12/31? Because that’s what it feels like. How did we go a year without much of her yammering?

Someone on here said “I hope he enjoys prison.”

I prefer the Kinpreservesprove.

You had me at pretentious bore. I’ve said it before: I am either stunned by LvT films, or hate them. And this one just bored me silly.

Every time I mention PHANTOM THREAD and HOSTILES, some asshole comes along to mention how they had their qualifying runs in 2017 and I just imagine them looking all smug as they type it. And fuck them: wide releases count for those of us not on a coast or in the business.  Both were excellent. Thanks for mentioning

Love this format, so we can see all the details for all the writers (even a few I didn’t know were writing here).

I was sure I had watched two seasons...then realized that I had watched the first half of S1, loved it, walked away, and several months later watched the rest, and several months later thought I’d watched two seasons. So, yeah, thanks for that. Age is taking its toll on me.

Well that’s very disconcerting. I greatly enjoyed the first season; the second one a bit less. But that cast was great, and Weaving has been popping up in several projects and has a lot of talent. I hope this only encourages her to stick to her guns when red flags go up during any production.

Thanks for giving Rudolph the kudos. She is a marvel, especially her voice work in BIG MOUTH.

I guess we need you alive to remind us what a piece of shit says.

Wow, that was 0 to asshole in mere seconds.
