Sooo, what actually happened is that she wanted to cheat on her fiance, realized she’d probably contracted a child or cooties, and had to make an elaborate excuse as to why she was missing and full of another man’s baby juices. At the expense of black men.
I just commented on the Root that not only will this justify men not taking rape seriously, it will do nothing to quell the racist hunting of black men as out of control animals. White girl wanted attention, ashamed to admit she dated a black man and now all women suffer a little bit more.
This trailer legitimately made me cry because it feels like it’s just so close to this side of possibility. I just finished re-reading the book in anticipation of this series and it was truly terrifying.
“Better never means better for everyone,”
I’m sorry. I know how you feel. Just wanted to say that.
This is adorable on some level.
If only Folks on twitter could be this succinct and poignant.
Ugh wtf. As a recovering addict who’s been hospitalized multiple times for mental illness and my disease I often think that’s how they would describe me if something happened. It’s like when a stripper gets killed and that’s all they say.
“The sharp dressing assailant is kind to his dogs, loves Game of Thrones and is known for bottling excellent home brewed lagers. His Oscar parties were always the best among his peers. It’s likely that he knew the deceased was no innocent.
Timothy Caughman was murdered because he was Black and yet the media still paints him as the problem. Here’s how the Daily News reported this:
I’m not usually one to play the “call it terrorism” card but
Ugh, thank you. I always have to explain to men what the history of women in the civil rights movement ACTUALLY looked like.
My mama never had to tell me that men deserve rights, because they’re all somebody’s daddy, or brother, or son. I guess I just took it for granted that men were human being deserving of equal rights and treatment, regardless of their relationship status to women.
“Hey Grandpa Dave, Black women fucking exist. Thanks.”
God I fucking cringe every time I hear someone say that.
Understood. But since we can’t and never will have first hand knowledge of what you go through, we can only surmise. Sometimes the only way to get that experiece directly is to listen to our wife\mother\daughter\girlfriend\sister\whatevers.
she screamed out to me, “Women suffer.” I said, “I know.”
I will never forgive Bill Cosby for taking Bill Cosby from me.
