Yes, Steve jumped on it thinking he would die. Walker knows he has the equipment that would save him. It’s still very brave but it’s not as much a sacrifice as calculated risk. He is in many ways like those other guys who were in the camp with Steve and there was a reason why Erskine chose Steve over them.

Yeah, they are clearly putting him on the spectrum between:
“Ugh, this fookin’ guy” to “OK, he’s fine. OK? Just fine.” to “All right, maybe he shows me a little something.”

That is much more narratively interesting than making him so incompetent, racist or entitled that he is a straw man cartoon.

I also am zigging here

Is it just me or was it very weird and out of character for the new Cap to pull out a pistol during the fight?

Staying in pajamas all day? Speak for yourself.

There’s no doubting the impact Musk has had on making electric cars mainstream, on making home energy storage accessible, on making access to space cheaper and more reliable, and on bringing much higher quality internet to not just rural America, but the globe.

All that said, dude is a serious asshole.

As an engineer in life sciences and filtration, I need you to understand how long you would have to hold a low-powered device like this in one place to see any difference.

Same! 4/28 and I’m back to licking doorknobs in the mall...I mean, going to theaters.

I should be fully vaccinated (+ 2 weeks) in early May. This will probably be my first movie back.

I mean, a lot of the population should be vaccinated by then as well. I’m quite happy to hit up a Dolby theater for this if I’m through my vaccinations. It’s good news all around.

Could be a shock collar or bomb collar, or even just a tracking collar. I don’t recall mention of power-dampening anywhere in the MCU.

While lack of income may make it easier for the bank manager to deny the loan, the legacy of the real world USA would suggest that we cannot ignore the dynamics race plays in the interaction (and I felt the subtext of the scene supported Germain’s interpretation).

Even if the banker himself is not explicitly denying

I bloody loved it. I particularly loved the introduction of Sarah - it’s good to have an idea of how difficult things were during the Blip and it’s also good to have an organisation in the background who wants things back as they were during the Blip. I think too many people assume that everyone would have been

It feels relevant to mention here that Zemo’s plan was never to free all the other Soviet supersoldiers. That’s what everyone THOUGHT his plan was.

Other helpful tips for viewers:

1. It’s not Mephisto
2. ScreenRant, The Ringer, Newsarama, and all sorts of “scoops” sites will try to convince you that it Could Be.
3. Once the series wraps, TV Twitter will tell you that it’s your fault for thinking it was Mephisto.

I think Falcon and The Winter Soldiers’ episodes are going to be longer than WandaVision’s.

I’m gonna throw your “This isn’t the comics” response to others right back at you. Why does Sam need Steve’s super soldier-ness? That’s a very comics thing. Trust the MCU writers to create a new type of Captain America who has his own strengths, weaknesses, and struggles. He shouldn’t be Steve But Black And With Wings.

And that’s also an area that can be mined for pathos. How does he do this when he’s just a regular human being, with all the physical limitations and frailties that come with that?

Or maybe, like in the comics, he doesn’t need that to be Cap.

In the comics he carried the shield and the mantle of Captain America without the serum. I’m sure he’ll do fine in the show.

Between the assumption of Sam officially taking up the Captain America mantle, and the show possibly delving into Isaiah Bradley, I cannot fucking wait to see where this show goes.

Also, minor aside, Mackie is a goddamn treasure and I’m so, so, so, so goddamn happy to see Marvel give Sam the spotlight he deserves.
