Honestly, did anyone need this? Did this contribute to or advance our national discourse and understanding of one another in any meaningful way? Was this the best Oprah could come up with? I was out of patience for this idea and this segment before I even watched it last night.

Man, today, while Donald was tweeting vitriol at the NFL, Hillary was tweeting about Puerto Rico and encouraging the government to send help to them.

Society allows white men to make mistakes. Women and POC not so much. It was never about her emails. Just like how people aren’t really mad at the kneeling for the national anthem. They’re mad that black men are being uppity.

IIRC, a very good piece about his life points to the sudden death of his father as the point he began to go off the rails.

Many accounts of his life conclude that he went off the rails after the death of his father. It’s possible it was a combination of the two but I would also imagine not having a strong father figure and thus falling in with the wrong sort of crowd could lead to this kind of behavior.

I think the study you are referring to had an inherent bias in that the examined players were already suspected of having CTE. It didn’t include players that were not suspected of having CTE. But, you have a valid point that it should not be surprising when a former NFL player is diagnosed with having CTE. 

I think his point is that since his NFL career was so short, either CTE can happen very quickly, or else the normal amount of pre-professional football one needs to play in order to make the NFL is enough to cause CTE. Neither conclusion is acceptable to the NFL

So what does this mean for Hernandez’s ghost? On one hand, him donating his brain probably means he’s now a dumb ghost. On the other hand, had he not donated his brain, he’d probably be a pretty mean ghost.
