Eh, not totally sure on that answer. Future liability had never crossed my mind when evaluating if a claim is a total or not. Future phone calls and headaches about repairs have though.

i work in claims. A small non standard branch of a large insurance company. I've already had probably 7 claims involving new corvettes. 3 were total losses. We use COPART. All of my corvette claims involved running off the road. I'd be leary to buy one that ran off the road.

I work in claims. We try to move vehicles that are obvious totals to COPART as quick as possible to avoid storage etc. I always ask if the owner would be interested in owner retained salvage.
