That was actually the point of General Perkins’ speech. Unfortunately the media went with the “$3M is more than $200 and that’s so cray cray” angle instead. Terrell did a pretty good breakdown, unfortunately that headline makes a first impression that’s hard to shake.

Soo.... Did anyone else think about that scene in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot when the Marine gets chewed out by the CO for using a Javelin against a Toyota pick up truck? Because this event really is life imitating art.

From the picture and text combined, I’ve gleaned that I can buy DJI Phantom drones for $200 on Amazon?

Miniature brrrrrrrrrtttt is always a good answer

Considering weaponized commercial drones have become a favorite ISIS tactic (particularly around Mosul), they may have been specifically looking for things in that profile.

Thank you. I’m baffled that people don’t get this. You don’t only engage targets of similar or greater cash value.

proximity fuse

Go home NAVY blimp you drunk!

99 Amazon drones, floating in the summer sky...

Not pictured: a $200 drone.

We kinda had something like that.

What is this? An A10 for ants?

HHmmmmmmbullshit.mmm.

Ground based Phalanx. Problem solved. Check please.

I’m actually kind of impressed that such a large missile is accurate enough to hit such a small target. Or maybe it didn’t directly hit; maybe it just detected when it was close enough, and detonated itself. I don’t really know how missiles work.

That power point slide is every single military power point or program graphic I every saw. A fruit salad of nomenclature and stuff.

Aircraft like....not a drone? What are we now classifying drones as, ground vehicles that defy gravity?

Reverses the old accuracy vs. success rate argument by hitting a useless target first try...
