HOUSE OF CARDS *looks* like a good show
and it *sounds* like a good show….
BUT IT'S NOT A GOOD SHOW!
Its just Kevin Spacey getting away with everything over and over again and Robin Wright looking FABULOUS.

He's a terrible teacher AND a rotten caregiver.
I hope they spend THE WHOLE SEASON APART!
Narcissistic as well.
That line where he asks, "Do you want to go the gym?" and she laughs , playing it as if its the most ridiculous thing she's ever heard; yet we can SEE that the actress NEVER misses a gym day.
I DO believe great acting can make a viewer forget or overlook the physical; but Zoe Saldana is no Glenda Jackson.
Listen to Dr. Simone's FOUR WOMEN and you will understand the difference it makes.
… and killing off Heidi's character wasn't even on the table until GUS brought it up!
What a shitty "friend".
I felt like Heidi threw the "set crush" line out there as a way of testing the emotional waters; if Gus had shown the slightest sign that he actually CARED, she would have backed it up and at least TRIED to have a real relationship.
One thing I was impressed with: Heidi is allowed to be a whole person,
not simply "a villain".
I like Heidi and, frankly, I'm ok if she and Gus ride off into the sunset together and this becomes THE MICKEY & BERTIE SHOW.
This post makes me want to SET MYSELF ON FIRE!
I'm gonna wait for the actual episode review to comment!
But the way the season ended, I lost any little bit of good will or empathy I'd built up towards Gus.
I'm fine with it turning into THE MICKEY & BERTIE SHOW!
I'd like to believe I'm gonna win a billion dollars!
Maybe season 2 will pick up mid-kiss and Mickey pulls back and kicks him the balls, saying, "I SAID I needed space!"
minus the "sexual harassment offensive", that was hurtful to watch.
He's even shitty at his JOB!
Wheres Mickey seems to be the most professional in HER workplace!
All I can - HOPE - is that it takes 2 seasons to subvert the tropes.
As you say, merely being AWARE of the tropes is NOT subversive.
I am really eager to talk about this…
I don't know about that binging;
I really enjoy THINKING about the show in between episodes.
"FRANK GETS AWAY WITH EVERYTHING FOR TWO MORE SEASONS"
I don't know how the show keeps going, because the moment Frank is held responsible for anything, thats the end of the show.
