Paul seems really image-conscious and kind of insecure, even now he’s really trying to nail the point that he didn’t break up the Beatles. There are other stories of him finally making amends with Pete Best, but according to Pete, Paul had a publicist do it for him.

Self- insert is better. Even then characters like Rey are clearly not an author avatar, so people need to lay off of her.
