I actually really liked the third season, even though it was the first that Jemaine Clement was not involved in.

The coolest imagery from Volume 2, and one of the coolest images from the entire show, was Nancy blasting Vecna with the shotgun with just the meanest mug of all time. 

I don’t think it’s out of the question that Taika was approached to helm a Star War, not the other way around. As in, Disney liked his other work and offered him a Star War, with the freedom to at least come up with whatever idea he wanted. I mean, maybe he’s making it as a piece of film that he enjoys, and that he thinks other people will enjoy, and it’s fulfilling to him, and it’s okay if that is the extent of it.

I think he’s saying he doesn’t really care if the movie becomes a major cultural phenomenon or is infinitely quotable or inspires a dedicated fandom. .. He just wants people to go see his movie, and he’s confident that people will, even the naysayers, because they want a big escapist spectacle.
