I mean, he was paid a fee as a director right? Does he mean like, he hasn’t made money off its subsequent success, as in royalties, etc.? Is that something that is expected from most movies? I’m asking honestly, I don’t know how the process generally works. I know there’s all kinds of shady bookkeeping to make it look

My understanding is it’s not actually low cost to create, or at least to “mint” an NFT. The actual creation of the asset may be low cost, but “minting” it in an actual NFT marketplace has a pretty substantial set of costs and fees, as I understand it.

Many have mentioned that the Bechdel Test works best viewed as an aggregate rather than picking on specific movies, but this article actually takes it a step further and focuses on specific SCENES.

Yeah, the reaction of “oh yeah, well there’d be LESS COWS” is a weird one, considering that hey, maybe we could deal with a lot less cows, considering the environmental impact of clearing rainforest for grazing land, and the burp gas of cows being a pretty significant contributor to CO2 emissions.

He excised full scenes and characters (Tom Bombadil, Barrow Wights, Imrahil, etc.), made substantial plot changes (the elves arriving at Helm’s Deep, Sam and Frodo being at Osgiliath), and some cosmetic changes (Saruman remains “Saruman the White” and not “Saruman of Many Colors”). He changes some characterization

She’s listed in the Wikipedia credits, and apparently is in one of the later trailers. Maybe her role is just really reduced?

Right? The review was 90% positive, just saying “it’s a bit long, and a bit too kid-oriented, but otherwise great”....ehhhh C-

THis does not read like a C- review.

Jesus christ you fucken weirdo, go outside. Engage with real humans face to face. Try it, if you aren’t too far inside of your own asshole.

Carrey has been expressing this weird view that movies make people do things for a while now and it’s baffling. I know he started to disavow Kick Ass 2 after he filmed it, saying he couldn’t condone any movie where people use guns or something.

The two main things that have stuck out to me that you mentioned -

So “success” means that an artist has to appeal directly to you?

So did they quit? or fail to quit? Also, saying that billions in fashion is still failing at music is, again, fuckin weird.

What’s sickening is the discourse. Jesus, do we need to know, individually, what every single celebrity and non-celebrity thinks about “the slap”?

I can’t tell if the OP means that they tried to quit and failed at quitting? It’s baffling

This person really took a situation where entitled fans were mobbing a performer’s hotel thinking they were “owed” pictures, and saying “it’s ‘cause you’re a slut!”

All those Elizabeth masks were so creepy and disturbing, it made me physically uncomfortable while I was watching. When they get reintroduced in the Sunny/Elizabeth scene I audibly groaned.

lol what the fuck?

18-22 is a range of 4 years. For the record I think she was 19 when she got in their relationship?

I mean, what? Our legal system defines adulthood. Mentally,  yes, she didn’t have much adult “experience” per se...but developmentally? What does that mean?
