It’s likely that the move to make a show is based on the success, or at least staying power, of the Masters of the Universe toy lines. “Cat Person” itself always seemed like a hasty first draft to me. It’s messy, and maybe that’s the point, but it seems like there’s always some disconnect between the skeleton of the story and the way the guy character is pretty much just a weird cliche caricature to the point of near parody.

Definitely my biggest issue with the story was that the guy was an absolute caricature, a pastiche of various manipulative/sad guy cliches. It was almost a parody. The fact that it’s the only part of the story that the author actually seems to have come up with makes a lot of sense. 

It’s my favorite of the MCU D+ series by far, leans the most into its concept (unlike WV) and it’s not as tepid and by the numbers as Falcon and WS.
