You can read a more detailed answer to this statement above, when I responded to mricyfice.

I just came back from 3 weeks in the US (Florida, Seattle and NYC) and the roads in the US really is quite crappy compared to what we have here in Sweden and what I've experienced in Germany.

Well, I'm a Computer Engineer so I only studied a little bit of material strength but I'm pretty certain that you can view this as cyclic compression stress on the road. In this case a truck carries a lot of weight packed closely together, distributed over 18 wheels. To make up the same amount of weight you would

Well, the legality of exclusivity deals depends on which jurisdiction it is in. Since I'm not fluent in US Law I'll leave it at my initial statements, exclusivity deals can, depending on the circumstances, be illegal. If I'm not mistaken that would be the Sherman act and Clayton act, specifically the part about "Rule

I think this was discussed to great lengths when there was a previous "apple fan article" that was something like "how come apple has tech from the future".

From GSM Arena: 480 x 800 pixels, 3.0 inches (~311 ppi pixel density)

Well, stating that Apple gets tech into their products before their competitors is quite a bold claim. The latest version of the iphone doesn't really have anything that hasn't been in competitors phones before. (If you are saying the retina display then it's worth noting that the old SE X1 from 2008 had a ppi of 316,

The law works different in many countries and most of the time we would consider our own country to have the "best" system. Most Swedes for example, would consider the American system to be quite flawed. None the less, there are a few factors that make this case different.

Oh, I would say get the white Xperia arc s! ;)

Very nice indeed. This is the same fantastic Sony sensor as used in the top Xperia models. Been sporting this since Xperia arc came out in May this year. It's absolutely true... you don't need a point-and-shoot after this. I still bring along my DSLR for "serious" photograpy, but for catching everyday moments the Sony

Exactly. Mr. Greatbatch did a great contribution to society and very much improved on the Swedish design, but he did not invent the implantable pacemaker.

Great respect for mr. Greatbatch (and an awesome surname) but implantable pacemakers were pioneered at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden by Rune Elmqvist and Åke Senning in 1958.

@Roberto Baldwin: VIA is a highly respected company and it borders on slander to refer to them as "below-bridge dwelling". The patents are technical regarding inner workings of CPU or other Integrated Circuits. Since Apple is going their own way with manufacturing CPU it's not unlikely that Apple infringes on VIA

Well, the first commercial mobile telephone network was MTA and that arrived in Sweden in 1956. That was the system that later evolved into NMT the 1st fully automatic mobile telephone system.

It's an interesting, but long, discussion to try to figure out the optimal configuration for punishment of crime. I would argue that US for the most is to hard and Sweden for the most is too loose, but that all really boils down to personal preference.

I have one of these, it's really a fantastic phone. If you don't want the Sony Ericsson skinned version of Android, then just unlock the bootloader and install whatever you want.

Well, technically a dual-core would use more energy wouldn't it? So a faster single-core is better if you are only doing 1 thing at a time... Now a 1.4Ghz Dual-core, that would be even better but use even more energy. ;)

Hehe, yeah SE has had a rough time to get into the US. I think the xperia play is the only phone out in the US. Too bad really, for you guys. ;) I'm a Swede and an SE fanboy, but pretty much everyone seems to love the latest generation of phones. They are not skinned to hard and I personally really like the

I don't think it's very likely that they will push WP7 I'm afraid. The word on the street is that MS didn't let go of enough control, so SE didn't want to use it. (No I don't work for Sony Ericsson, but in my neck of the woods everyone else either works for/with Sony Ericsson or Ericsson)

Hi Afiset.
