Oh see I hate that sweater. It renders its wearer automatically punchable.

Confession time: secretly I want them to cast Conrad Ricamora because I want more of him on my TV and not just as the TragiGay low-self-esteem awkward guy. That dude is sexy as fuck and he should do a lot more making out with cute boys.

I didn't realize I was a white savior, do I get a crown and a sash with that? Or a badge or something?

Are you the "there are Asian characters on the show" person from below? Correct, he did not utter that phrase. That is a true statement. He did say he wanted to fool around with people who weren't Patrick. That's an open relationship.

I'm already there — I'm Doris, the 40-whatever single white lady.

But he is in a relationship, just a spectacularly shitty one that he jumped into because he was so desperate to have a Ken Doll boyfriend.

Which would be a nice commentary on the messiness of real life wouldn't it?

I feel like you just answered your own question. Your partner isn't into it, and is (from the one sentence in the above paragraph) agreeing to it because he wants you, and is accepting this as a condition of having you.

I might discount Malik also, given that he's not around all that much, HOWEVER he is absolutely essential to the evolution of Doris' character and her relationship with Dom. I do agree that there's not much "there" there with him though, so I might demote him to scenery after all.

Tell me about it. I got that cold panic that I get when I realize the split second that a relationship has ended. As much as I loathed Kevin in this episode, I really sympathized with his desperation and trying (and inexplicably succeeding) to talk his way out of "dumped".

On a totally unrelated note, I saw Eddie Izzard perform last night and there was a guy in the audience who had Kevin's French bulldog sweater on and I had a sudden urge to backhand slap him in the face.

Why? And even after I stated explicitly what I was looking for, you kept at it.

Do you actually, genuinely not understand what I mean when I say they need to have Asians as primary or secondary characters on the show? I'm being serious here. Do you legitimately not know what I'm talking about?

Oh for sure. This season became a hate-watch for me, all I could see was the worst of my idiotic, self-absorbed, immature 20s being played out on TV for me on a weekly basis with Paddy as the conduit. It was horrifying.

There are no Asian primary or secondary characters. The example you provided is not a primary or secondary character. If you can identify a primary or secondary character on the show "Looking" who is Asian, please do so.

Owen is neither a primary nor a secondary character. That's what I asked for, its up there in black and white. You can go read it again if you have to, I'll wait.

That's a pretty narrow view of the world. Are you a white guy in his 20s/early 30s living in or near a city, by any chance?

If he was a primary or secondary character? Have a story that is independent of his interactions with Paddy.

Malik has a story. Malik has a developed personality and an identifiable backstory and occupation outside of his interaction with the primary characters on the show. Owen is set dressing. He is not a primary or secondary character. He's just some guy who sits at a desk.

He waited until AFTER Paddy gave up his cozy Victorian apartment to move into that hideous cement block to tell him he wants an open relationship? What kind of fucking dickbag twat does that?!? Why does anyone like him? Aaargh!
