Everybody makes their choices and compromises in life. Does his desire to actually spank women (not just look at pictures of it) override his desire to remain married to his wife? If not, then he can just deal. Maybe his wife has a secret desire to hit the eject button and live on the beach in Costa Rica, but her

That's the opposite of what he's saying.

This comment should have all the "likes"

Finally got to see it last night, you're totally right. The notebook full of "ideas" was the clincher (and kind of disturbing to see someone totally unhinged like that.)

I think its in keeping with his character in that he is very open and forthright and accepting of the things he wants in life.

I didn't think it was sleazy until after the deed was done. I actually saw Kevin's actions as almost childlike desperation. Out of the gate his behavior towards Patrick has been almost pleading — asking him to stay for dinner and get fried chicken and play (or, I guess work at) video games during the fair weekend

Check. I don't have Showtime so I either catch it somewhere else on the interwebz after the fact, or in bits and pieces.

It was. I had laundry going in the basement, and I live in an old house and my basement is full of small rooms and hidey-holes where they used to have cold storage and a coal scuttle. I thought about it for like two seconds and was like "fuck that noise, I'll get it tomorrow".

I thought they were going to (see my post above). It seemed like it would have fit to have the two of them die there alone, with nobody knowing they had ever been there — just disappear off the face of the earth.

"For it to not be sleazy?"

The heart wants what it wants, sometimes you see someone and instantly get it right between the eyes. Its certainly happened to me, and I've been "that" person for others. Shit just happens sometimes. Pheremones. I don't know.

This episode had my hair standing on end for about 20 minutes. I watched it just before bed, too, probably a bad move. Anyway:

I just assumed Ian was coked to the nines.

Oh this episode broke my heart. I think Kevin was on the level about being totally infatuated with Patrick, they set that up right from the beginning, with him being kind of desperate to keep Paddy in the office (working, getting dinner) on the day of the Folsom St. Fair and that sort of despairing expression when

1) Earl / Jarl was regional. Season 1 make good use of linguistic drift to indicate related-but-distantly cultural groups.

This Rollo is "based on" that Rollo so there should be some croissant-eating and hard-cider-drinking in upcoming episodes (or next season)

Fortunately, Rollo was a real person (as was Ragnar) and his history is well-documented (as was Ragnar's, so if you do a little googling you can find out how the series will end.)

Massive! She's been living in Dublin a LONG time to get that accent!

Its Jaffa from The Commitments! God love him!

I don't think it was supposed to be hot, I think we're supposed to think its uncomfortable and forced because it *was* uncomfortable and forced. Frank is doing this for Augustin's benefit, and that is just not going to work out well for anyone.
