I'm sorry, but I think I am missing something. The article says, "Gillis was released from prison in 2009." Wasn't he the one that actually committed the murder? Did I read that wrong?

Not really. Gillis was definitely part of something that happened that night (even Bryom Jr.'s confession says as much). I really think the question isn't so much if these people conspired to murder Edward Byrom Sr., but rather what each party's actual involvement was. Byrom Jr. is the ONLY one who had gunpowder

Is there anything I can do to help her, besides sit here and stew in my own anger?

As a criminal defense attorney I find this truly appalling.

I actually agree that it's hard to tell what her exact level of involvement was. She may not be "innocent" with a big "I" (as in she knew nothing about it whatsoever), but there was certainly enough mitigating evidence to explain why this woman doesn't belong on death row for this crime. The law is written to account

So you have a woman who's abused by one man growing up, then by another man she married, and then finally gets exonerating evidence excluded on a technicality by yet another man, who then sentences her to death.

This is exactly why the death penalty should be abolished.

I'm living at home for the moment. I talk to them ALL THE DAMN TIME.

I have talked to my folks pretty much every day for the last 10 years, and had seen them almost as frequently (Dad died a couple of years ago). It's mostly a chore. My parents are nice people, but my dad never developed much emotional capacity and wasn't much of a talker, and my mom, bless her, just isn't very bright.

I BEGGED my mom to get texting forever. She wouldn't budge.

I guess the big difference here is that we're used to revering greedy rich white dudes and the women who marry them, but to do the same when the husband is black and the woman is on Keeping Up with the Kardashians? Oh, well, that's a new low.

Actually most models quietly ask to be treated as human beings and you're pretty much guaranteed you will be told to change your body and never expect to be paid.

Remember, human, you are a slave. You are generally "Miserable Slave". You can aspire to be "Adequate Slave."

That would be instrumental in making this world a better place and people just don't realize it. Less death for sure. less suicides. More acceptance.

When my bf sent this to me last night he said "I find this incredibly insulting". We then went thru it line by line and before long we were both incredibly insulted. Good news is, we are much closer now than we were before!

Which probably would make it MORE important for more actual comprehensive sex ed earlier, so that people who figure out they are trans can start on HRT before their secondary sexual characteristics come in, I would assume. God, Americans suck and understanding gender and sexuality. We barely give CIS and straight

If ever there was an argument for how fluid our constructs of gender and sex *actually* are, it is watching a person flip their sex hormones and watch how much it changes their body. Seriously, transphobic people- if people transitioning were doing something unnatural, why do their bodies get more traditionally

OH MY JESUS THIS IS A GOOD IDEA. Seriously, the status of sex ed in this country is ABYSMAL. I really didn't understand how my period worked till I was in my mid-20s. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THAT. I can only imagine it is like that times 1000 if you think you should be a different gender or think you're asexual or all

Your joke is making me laugh (50 humor points to House MissGenX). But it also serves to bring up a great point—ANYTHING can be sexualized. OMG. That's why these types of bans are so dumb. Ban leggings. Ban mini-skirts. Ban tight-jeans. My boyfriend thinks I look sexy in baggy sweats and old t-shirts. So let's ban
