Babies aren’t very basic. They might not have a fully-formed sense of the world, but they are inherently social and have a baseline understanding of physics.

The kids and I have the bed to ourselves. My husband and I were never compatible sleepers (he kicks and sweats). I get flak about this also. People are very judgemental about other people’s sleeping habits for some reason.

Biggest point of contention: babies are not all the same. They have different needs.

It might be good or bad for the baby, but either way you get more sleep. Attending their cries might be good or bad for the baby, but either way you get less sleep. Seems like a pretty clear-cut choice.

Hell, worst case scenario CPS takes away the baby, and then you can get much more sleep.

One more thing: Do not use mass market (Hartz) flea or tick medication and collars. They can be highly toxic to your pet (cat and dog alike). This is one area where you have to spring for the brands sold by vets: Frontline, Revolution, etc.
