This was also my initial reaction to the article. It strikes me as weird to use a non-medical term in the context of discussing a highly innovative medical procedure.
" Instead, doctors harvested eggs before the surgery, for in-vitro fertilization. Now they'll relocate those embryos, and wait"
It doesn't sound like it.
Edit:
"The 36-year-old mother, who was born without a uterus, received a donated womb from a friend in her 60s."
"A year after the transplant, doctors decided they were…
YES! Would we write an article about penile surgery referring to it as a "peepee"?!? I absolutely abhor the word "womb" and if I never see it on Jezebel again, I will be the happiest owner of a UTERUS ever.
Yes, correct anatomical terms please! To me, "womb" is one of those words like "panties" or "moist." Haaate it and it makes my skin crawl for no apparent reason.
Why aren't they calling this a "uterus"?
“womb” is not an anatomical term! they mean uterus, right? i never know what they mean!

how about domestic abusers at jezebel? have they been fired yet?
Even America's Next Top Model has a zero tolerance policy for violence. Somebody was just kicked out last week for drunkenly threatening and head butting another contestant. When ANTM holds any amount of moral superiority over another organization, you know there are problems.
Can you provide an example of an acceptable act of domestic violence?
Some abusers are more equal than others, huh?
Who the hell up votes this shit? Smh
What is the point of going through all the tsuris of changing the commenting system if writers are going to promote comments like this? This is now the top comment on the post.

Yeah...Grandma sucks.
My favorite bag dispenser is another bag. You can tie or tape one end to a shelf and fill it with bags. The department store bags are the best, due to size and thickness.
OK, so now we've heard from the Tobacco Institute. George Burns lived to be 100 years old and smoked cigars all his adult life. Does that prove tobacco doesn't cause cancer? Of course not. That's just ridiculous.
