Bobbi: "Don't care, had sammitches."

Aaaargh! Things don't "fall out of orbit"!
This show is usually pretty good about this stuff, so it's extra jarring when they drop one of these hoary old clangers.

did too.

Her accent threw me pretty badly too, because it's one I know very well in real life. In a previous discussion in the comments here, the best explanation I saw someone come up with was that Mars settlement included ethnic enclaves, just as has occurred in many places on Earth.

Which was written by Haldeman as a rebuttal to Heinlein's infamously jingoistic Starship Troopers.
And I highly recommend The Forever War too.

Per your comments on last weeks episode about Bobbi's body, here's what the writers have to say:

you stated something as being universally true

*sigh* You can make up as much shit as you like, but it's still not going to be true.

I simply wondered why male soldiers look different than female soldiers as depicted by these sorts of shows.

I think it's a lot funnier for them to keep people guessing.

80 years is a pretty good run for any man. And believe it or not, there's nothing inherently unhealthy about a smack habit; it's the lifestyle that often goes with it that kills junkies, not the actual drug. There have been many junkies who've lived to ripe old ages. A famous example is William S. Burroughs, who lived

Hrm. She was okay for someone who isn't a singer. (And certainly much better than me, although that's not a high bar.)

Archer's war flashbacks don't make any sense unless the show is set post-WW2.

My theory is that they wanted to at least respectfully acknowledge IRL Woodhouse's passing in the show.

I don't get it. Why would you publish a delicious bit of trolling like that piece about Indie bands without having a comment section following it from which to reap the rewards?

Because you find it hard to believe that a solidly-built, 6' tall amateur boxer would be capable of throwing a punch. This makes me wonder whether you're one of those people who has to bulk up to compensate for your lack of height.

Well played!

they are also used to determine if a show should be brought back.

I think you're misunderstanding what TV ratings are actually for. They exist only to prove to advertisers that X number of viewers are seeing / will see their ads on that show, thus that they're worth spending money on. In the case of streaming media, the economic models are completely different. The problem we're

Well, that's the problem, isn't it?The Nielsen figures only tell us about the (likely small) percentage of dinosaurs who watch SF shows according to an airing schedule, rather than when they feel like it. In my case, I haven't watched anything FTA in about a decade.
