The International Olympic Committee has announced new guidelines that no longer require trans women athletes to undergo hormone therapy or “medically unnecessary treatments” to be eligible to compete, because there is “no presumption that athletes should have an advantage due to their transgender status.”

America benefits from both a big population, wealth allowing for a lot of recreational competitive sports even in poor neighborhoods, and a lot of immigrants. Just FYI, the fastest women’s time this year in the 100 meters wouldn’t make the top 1000 of the men’s times. I’m not sure relegating women athletes to the deep, deep, deep minor league of almost every sport answers any problems we have.

I’m sorry but it’s just not accurate to claim that there is no potential advantage for someone who was born on the male end of the spectrum but transitions to female in athletic competition with those born on the female end of the spectrum.
