also seems really unlikely that the bullet wouldn't have made it through his pants. Right? I don't know much about guns but that seems crazy.

And let me be clear. Yes, I am accusing you of trying to start a war. :)

There's a difference between "patriotism" and a "fuck everyone else because they're not American" attitude. That's the kind of irrational patriotism that leads people to try to make English the official language, start wars, etc. I'm entirely with you on rooting for the US, but I don't see anything wrong with rooting

yeah! What he said! And our screen names should only be in English, too, right? Because this is fuckin 'merica!

"The GM brand meant safety and success."

an even better example than this one is Blair getting ejected the other day, and subsequently suspended, for what amounts to accidentally kicking a guy in the head.

if the league ends up forcing a sale (a proposition I admit sets a potentially troubling precedent), it should also find a way to get these players out of their contracts (or at least threaten it). That would at least lower the sale price of the team.

a big part of the "why did it happen this way" lies in consumerism, and the way that the labor movement was pacified in the US by the promise of higher wages rather than less hours. A great book on this subject is Gary Cross's Time and Money.

Perhaps he's just a fan of humanity.

I've long proposed a rule where the scoring team gets a certain amount of time, say 10 seconds, to do whatever the hell they want (excepting actively taunting the opposing team, etc). At the end of the time, a buzzer sounds, and the celebration is over. Back to the game.

"There are 500,000 Indians living in Qatar. Since 2011 around 450-500 Indians have died due to any number of reasons. "

Props, Tom. This is one of the best posts I've seen in ages. I laughed so hard I cried.

I can't tell if the women on the far right was shocked or awed.

So as a lefty that hits a lot of line drives to right field, you're saying I might make this guy's cut.

Everything I'm seeing online either looks like a hanger (meaning there's either no left or no right field) or is 120' from home plate. That can't be what these leagues play on, right?

I could be snarky, as everyone else understandably is. I'm more confused about what "indoor" softball is. What kind of facilities are these played in? Surely it's not just a basketball court converted into some strange home run derby contest?

I'm not taking a position on the larger question of whether he has "motor."

No, mahn.

I'm pretty sure this actually aired Monday night.
