I think I’m more apt to think that a white girl with these braids looks like she’s going to jail than if it was a black girl. I don’t know what that means other than I recently watched Orange is the new Black. Probably still racist.
I was born in the 80s and I know a ton of women my age with middle names Elizabeth (myself included)! Marie is another popular one as someone else mentioned (and my sister’s middle name).
But I know very few people with those as a first name.
I have a former coworker with a sister who is trans and my coworker told me that she doesn’t think women’s college should admit trans women - and she is one, so not every opinion comes from a place of discrimination. I’m happy to hear this news, but it would be interesting to have a discussion about it. I don’t think…
Because asking for money is generally considered poor etiquette.
Just make sure you know their wine preference. My husband and I got a ton of red wine at a housewarming we had and we don’t drink red :(
What a dick. There are guests that didn’t give us anything and it doesn’t bother me even a little bit.
This is what we did. We upgraded our towels and linens and a bunch of our cookware for nicer stuff. Gave away the other stuff to my younger cousins. Most people gave us cash at the wedding anyway.
Bridal Showers are an opportunity for some of the women invited to the wedding to get together before hand and shower the bride with gifts. They’re usually household items from the registry. It’s generally family and close friends and you sit around and have brunch or snacks and everyone watches the bride open her…
Well you don’t have to ask for it. I got almost all cash at the wedding and we had a traditional registry and never once implied a preference for it. The WASPy side did physical gifts. The Italian/Irish sides did cash.
True. My mom’s family is all Italian. I got cash. My dad’s family is mostly WASPy. They gave me stuff from my registry. It’s good to have a registry for that reason, but I’ll always give cash at weddings.
That being said, NEVER EVER EVER EVER ASK FOR CASH IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM. Including Honeymoon registries. The…
I’m going to Paris and London for the first time next month and I can’t wait. There’s so much history there and interesting things to see. Maybe it’s not anything special to you, but I’m sure a lot of international visitors feel the same way about seeing Times Square in NYC.
Facebook and instagram do a better job of backing up their data than I do. And my harddrive has limited space.
I have a DSLR that I’m planning to bring when my husband and I go to London and Paris next month, but it’s so bulky that I’ll probably fall back to my phone
You have to go at the right time of year. We’re going to Paris and London at the end of May and our tickets aren’t nearly that expensive - but we booked a long time ago and have been planning the trip for well over a year. And there are definitely cheaper times of the year to go than in May.
For us, this trips is a…
I did. My periods were always really easy with some minor cramping. So I was like “eh, even if they’re worse, how bad can they be?” They’re MUCH heavier and I spend much of the first two days popping 800mg of ibuprofen. I randomly start cramping 3 days before the bleeding even starts and I think I’m going to switch to…
I hate my copper IUD. It makes my periods crazy and painful. And right now I am mysteriously two weeks late.
I think I’ll switch to Mirena and deal with the hormones when this guy is up.
I don't get bottles of water all that often, but I just know that every time I've tried to get in that habit I just can't do it. I always forget, and if I do remember I don't know where to put it - I don't want to lug it around in my purse, that gets heavy. I'm rarely carrying a backpack.
If she's forgetting to bring the old one, what makes you think she'll remember a real reusable one?
I sometimes reuse ziploc bags depending on what they were used for - like a bag of frozen veggies once opened I'll stick in a ziploc to keep contained. But it's still in the original bag, so it's not getting the ziploc gross. I don't wash them though.
