I'm newly married and I can definitely see someone continuing on with the momentum of wedding planning even if the relationship was starting to deteriorate. Absantee ballots are allowed in every single state I'm pretty sure. I did in college when I was 2 hours away from my hometown where I was registered. Look into it next time, I'm sure you can do it. Just say you'll be out of state that day.

I did Pro this year too! I rented a dress from them for my bridal shower, a hair piece from them for my wedding, and I used the bday credit for a wedding I'm attending next weekend. And I love that they've lowered their price points and they have dresses below $50 now!
