For about a month after the wedding I really didn't know what do do with myself. I had no reason to open my super crazy spreadsheet any more or open up one of my designs in indesign. It was rough, ha.

I didn't really DIY much, but I did do my own programs and escort cards. I put a TON of time into my programs, but it was something I would do in the evenings while watching tv.

Is this sarcasm? Send friends that you're not inviting a link to your registry? Host an engagement party and invite people who aren't invited to the wedding so they can give you gifts? What? No.

My husband went out of his way to go to the town we used to live in that he's still registered at to vote one ONE ballot question in MA. He left everything blank for the same reasons you mentioned - he's so completely demoralized. But it's pretty inexcusable that he would do that - he didn't even vote for governor and

Absantee ballots are allowed in every single state I'm pretty sure. I did in college when I was 2 hours away from my hometown where I was registered. Look into it next time, I'm sure you can do it. Just say you'll be out of state that day.

I have a cushy 9-5 job and I didn't get Columbus Day. It's mostly public workers and bank employees. You'd have to make it a holiday on par with Christmas and make everyone shut down and that's not going to happen.

Also allow students to do same-day registration on their campus. I was registered to vote in my home town. I bothered to get an absantee ballot in 2008, but that was the only one. I didn't vote in any other election.

Columbus Day is only a holiday for public workers though. So yeah, the students might not have classes, and the federal/state and maybe bank employees will be off, but even many people with cushy 9-5 jobs still work - and most certainly the poor people with part time jobs in retail and the restaurant industries will

Massachusetts voted for paid sick time tonight. And it's one of the most liberal states in the country. A very moderate, pro-woman republican governor is not the end of the world. Coakley was a shit candidate, just like the last time she ran for election.

We voted for a democratic senator which is the more important

Thanks, I knew one was an MD - my husband's best friend is in residency, I just can't keep the names straight.

I'm pretty sure you have to have approval from both your doctor and a psychiatrist (psychologist? I never know the difference). I don't know that a severely depressed person would ever be given a prescription for it.

Yeah, that's tough. I always order the smallest size and run the risk of it being too big, but it's not that bad if I limit the designers I order from and use their fit notes. I've found that "designer" brands tend to have smaller sizes than most mall stores. But that's just me, I can definitely see why it wouldn't be

I did Pro this year too! I rented a dress from them for my bridal shower, a hair piece from them for my wedding, and I used the bday credit for a wedding I'm attending next weekend. And I love that they've lowered their price points and they have dresses below $50 now!

I rent from there a lot and the fit is never great, but it's convenient. I have a hard time finding stuff in the mall that fits me (I'm very petite), and I'd have to spend a bunch of money to get it taken in. I seem to have decent luck with RTR sizes and I'd rather pay $50 for a not-so-perfect fitting rental of a

I rented a hair piece from them for my wedding. $15 instead of the $300+ that the bridal salons wanted!

I've rented plenty of $50 dresses from them for evening weddings. Not black tie weddings, so no gowns, but definitely cocktail dresses. You're better off in the long run buying a dress, but for $50 I get a better dress than I would buy for that price and I'd rather spend $180 on 3 rentals for 3 weddings than $180 on

A couple years ago their lowest price was $50. So even $30 is not a bad deal.

And wedding season is May - October and I know a lot of people who rent cocktail dresses for weddings they attend. It's not a terrible deal if you have a handful of weddings to go to and you don't want to wear the same dress to every one.

Yep! I buy a lot of crappy $50 dresses that I wear once and decide I hate and never wear again. I have a hard time committing or finding dresses I love. So RTR gives me flexibility. It's not cheaper in the long run, no, but it's worth it for me.

Ah, I haven't looked there. I'm on the other end of sizing. I ran some javascript code over the first page of non-plus size dresses (128 dresses) to calculate the average price and it looks like it was $565. But I only checked one page.
