Toxic Masculinity: You can’t be soft or other men will bully you, exploit you, and hurt you.

“But isn’t omnipresent aggression how police justify their irrational paranoia and subsequent mistreatment of black men?”

Toxic Masculinity: ***has left the chat***

We’re working on a sponsor to present this idea with the prestige it deserves

He never apologized though that’s the issue. He said “my bad” for one joke and kept it moving. I guess my question is how hard would it have been to state.

Ummmm, this was the apology he issued when he stepped down from the Oscars. The whole point of him initially not apologizing was that he “apologized before.” So, the OP’s point stands. If he’s going to claim he’s being attacked when he apologized prior to this fiasco, where was that apology? If he could’ve backed up

There have been no receipts to show him apologizing before, but okay.

I’m surprised Steve isn’t suing Louis CK. Insulting Asian Men is sort of his bag.

I’m black and queer, and I speak only for myself - but I don’t forgive Kevin Hart. Not just because I don’t think he’s grown at all - I think he’s apologizing because he wants to host the Oscars and if a fake “apology” tour is what he needs to do to get there, he’ll do it. We all know Kevin Hart is mercenary.

What does Kevin Hart have on Ellen? That’s the only thing I want to know at this point. Does she secretly sell drugs to children or something? Does he have her on tape calling Black people the N-word?

He is trash, fuck him.

He still has not apologized. He says no one has dug that up...

.....I just can’t with these awful fucking monsters. Who the fuck accuses a kid who probably hasn’t even learned long division of sexual assault and calls the cops??? Bitch, he doesn’t even know what sex is, much less sexual assault you bleached orangutan!

Google me.

Your pat dismissal of Chinua Achebe transmits the impression of a racist, but hey, as you’ve conveyed, it’s all a matter of interpretation.

I’m saying that the larger setting of “Out of Africa” is the colonization of Africa and that the text doesn’t take upon itself the task of challenging the inherent oppression involved. How is that biased? Those are facts. These facts don’t mean the book/film aren’t worth reading/seeing. But they should play a role in

*snort* You’re right. You’ve got me pegged. Bless your heart.

I received plenty from my classical liberal education, including the fact that actual, historically documented (and currently persistent) social constructs aren’t “personal prejudice.” They’re just facts, available to you at any library or with a quick Google.

Breakin the window on my car is one thang, but you touch my music, you gonna catch these hands.

I’m not getting into a full scale fist-fight with my next door neighbor crackhead. Shots rang out ‘round there too frequently.

My crackhead tale of woe: 1987 Detroit, Young Boys, Inc. original territory, my first car, second apt, first office job at a nonprofit helping my people with employability skills, resume-writing, job search and matching. I was young and very, very inexperienced with druggy culture; thought those dirty skinny people
