Ha, my thoughts exactly; it's strange not to mention that you'll need to take a few steps in order to play that one in English.

You're correct that the entire "classic" mechanism for displaying comments is still in the code, perfectly intact (for now... hope they don't kill it, but the TAY forum still uses the old style so I hope they retain it). I don't want to reveal the exact details because they may block what I'm doing, but basically I

That's correct, you can still do so but you need to do it either (1) before you switch to classic view on the article, or (2) just right-click in the comments area and choose "Reload Frame," then the option will reappear immediately. But I will fix it when I have the time. : )

What if that thing I said?

They did remake one level of Mario 64 in Galaxy 2 (the Throwback Galaxy). I could certainly see them remaking the entire game with added details, etc.

My inbox has been going blank sometimes as well. I'm not sure what the problem is there.

    Agreed, and very well put.

There is a way, see here:

I'd love to see Mario Sunshine get an HD rerelease, but I'm worried about the lack of analog triggers on the new Gamepad. Those are kind of important for the basic gameplay in that game.

Oooh, that's a very helpful video. It makes it clear that the XL isn't all that much larger as a unit, but just has much more of the inner surface dedicated to the screens. Very nice... it will be hard to resist this new model.

I liked the notion of a "hub"... but mainly because I'm still yearning for a classic Mario 64-style 3D adventure with a rich hub world. But it also makes sense, as a kind of jumping-off point for the later news of the day.

You can have the mobile experience on the desktop Kotaku, if you're willing to try my Chrome extension (still in beta, but working well enough already):

I just updated it to fix a bug that was not showing all comments on "gallery" articles, since the URL is different in those cases. That might have been what you ran into. After releasing that update, I've double checked a handful of articles and the number of comments in the main view versus my view seems to always

Hmm... give me an example when you have a chance. It seemed to me that every reply was showing up correctly, though maybe about 30-60 seconds behind the latest (for some reason the way I'm pulling seems to lag just slightly behind the latest additions).

One more alternative is my Chrome extension, which is hackish but does let you read the comments in the classic view at will.

Thanks for trying it and helping to note the problems; with some work I should hopefully find a fix for the refresh (#1) but the weirdly dynamic setup on this blog makes it hard to avoid (#2) :/ It can certainly be improved, but it'll never be perfect.

I'd like to see David Lynch do anything. He's such an incredible director, but really kind of dropped off after Mulholland Drive (and I did watch Inland Empire, but it's just not the height of his creative work).

Ha. I'm going to start calling myself "fanman."
