    So the big question:

    C Batteries! Nooooooooooo!!

I'm certainly interested... but still skeptical for the moment.

I wasn't even gonna' go there because it's so damn ridiculous, but yes indeed. The violence in some recent games like Sniper Elite is already very sexualized. Violent acts directed specifically towards the sexual parts of another are absolutely instances of rape in every sense of the term, even if there's no

There is some woo-ing involved as well, if I'm not mistaken. Image taken from the website.

His only mistake was to pretend that it's a parody in the first place. It's not, it's a fantasy — but that's okay.

First off, RPGs are the worst possible analogy for progress in life. I feel as if they've greatly dumbed down the way we conceptualize our abilities, challenges, learning, and everything else. No, life is not like level-grinding at all (and on that topic, Outliers is pure pop-psychology nonsense).

    hear, hear

So to make use of all that extra detail, dev costs will continue to skyrocket and games will be even more reliant on catering to the broadest common denominator in order to recoup the tremendous expense?

Heheh... thanks for that. My thoughts exactly, but paired with the perfect screengrab.

Fantastic, thanks for that. Here's another classic trailer that takes a very different approach.

I was about to say the same thing... movies from the golden age pretty much always gave a near-complete plot summary in the trailer.

    ASIA!!!!!

But oddly intersecting with this saga was the rise of Portal 2's wonderful level editor and community sharing, which made a positive case for PC (& Mac) that exceeds even the damage done by something like this Diablo launch.

Oh, I don't use a computer for platformers, but the only games of that genre I play tend to be Nintendo, so they have me covered there.

I've only messed with the Move briefly once so I don't have a good grasp of it, but I've been wanting to try out the Move controls for RE5, because RE4 was absolutely perfect with the Wiimote aiming + nunchuck.

First off, the movement of your character and line of sight is much more fundamental to the feel of the gameplay than on/off actions that come from single button presses.

Wha..... I love sideway-Wiimote. It's a wonderful return to the simplicity of the NES controller, with just a perfect d-pad and a couple of buttons. The only complaint would be for those games that decide to use the rear trigger while in that mode... perhaps that's what Metal Slug did. Or you just hate nice things. ;)
