I had a problem with Carrie's singing - she sounded like she was going to ruin her voice. I thought she was okay at first, but the more I got into it, the more I wasn't a fan. Highlight was Audra's "Climb Ev'ry Mountain."

Oy. Carrie Underwood. She is fantastic at what she does, and she does not do live musical theater! Whoever directed her to belt "Favorite Things" has a problem (and I fully believe a lot of the choices were not hers, because that's how it goes some times). Nothing in this show needs to be belted.

I love the original "16 going on 17" because it seems so sarcastic. She's clearly the initiator in the relationship, and she's trying to lead him on.

From a production values standpoint, the whole thing reminded me of an extended episode of Days Of Our Lives.

I feel like Underwood is channelling Annie, not Maria. Is Maria supposed to be 10 years old, here? Weird directing choice, not Carrie's fault. But, was no one else available? Don't we have the Tonys so we can have people who can sing and act.

SERIOUS QUESTION: Why Carrie Underwood?

How baller would it be if ABC broadcast the REAL Sound of Music during this same time slot? Just to fuck with them. Then all the people who are hatewatching this could find refuge in the best movie on earth...

Elan, if you're gonna shame a jerk, make sure it's a real jerk.

The article they linked to about obesity worldwide, which is an interesting read, also said: "But such results don’t explain why the weight gain is also occurring in species that human beings don’t pamper, such as animals in labs, whose diets are strictly controlled. In fact, lab animals’ lives are so precisely

My computer is in the shop, so I had to create a burner... apparently it makes me unable to see the grey comments so I'm creating a new comment to reply to the person who said we should teach kids to count calories. No no no! That's the basis of unhealthy eating.

I don't understand why anybody is worried about "fat-exalting". Go to any random internet forum and post something involving a fat woman - 99.999% of the time people will talk shit about her.

Speaking of fa-shaming. I've been noticing all my life how much fat shaming there is in TV and movies. Like, A LOT. Especially kid's movies. So maybe there is a reason why everyone is so sensitive to this and we should stop having shows where every single time there is a fat person they are eating?

you should be able to say "I'm concerned" without being blasted.

I know that this will shock your ableist ass but there is more than one medical condition that contributes to weight gain/inability to exercise. In addition, some people don't have the time or money to eat a healthy diet— which is more expensive than an unhealthy one. On top of that, some people simply have priorities

I shouldn't be surprised by the number of comments here equating weight with health/non-health, and obesity with poor food choices, yet I am. I'm continually shocked how many people don't keep up with progress in medical and nutrition studies, yet claim to KNOW that "calories in, calories out" or eating more

I sort of get what you're saying, but I do want to point out that the whole "I love myself regardless of my size" thing can and does also contribute to weight loss for those that are truly unhealthy. For example, I was doing the most to be and stay fit in my life when I finally accepted my body and learned to love

You really should read some of the links in the article. I read one of those books in my top ranking public health program. The obesity epidemic is a little more controversial in public health than the main stream media would lead you to believe. I agree that there are problems with the food system, and you are not

Good for you!! You handled the situation with class, stood up to him, and got him out of your life. My vindictive side would have wanted to call the cops, but sometimes that makes then angrier and more violent, so you dodged a bullet. Calling his mom is classic, btw.

If 3 championships in 4 years isn't enough to keep you from being an asshole, the hole inside you is probably too big for college football to fill.
