The show IS execrable but that has nothing to do with its depictions of sex and violence.

YES!!!

One of the best living filmmakers who doesn't get the respect and attention he deserves.

I loved this show. That is all.

Actually it is necessary because straightforward death can be rationalized by humanity - we have social-cognitive defenses in place (i.e. Religion) that help us cope with death. A sudden disappearance forces people to grieve without the comfort of their faith because we have no socially reinforced delusions to help us

The Leftovers, unlike Lost, is 100% character based. The Sudden Departure is just a catalyst to see how these humans deal with the unknowability of death, not an intricate puzzle-box narrative populated by pencil-sketch characters with no solution.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

This was a good episode.

Don't you think these awards shows would be better rated if the producers just acknowledged that what most viewers actually want to see is a bunch of celebs looking glamorous and interacting. It should just be two hours of reality show cameras following them around as they have trivial conversations and get drunk and

Love Errol Morris so this was nice. They didn't quite get his style and cadence right but it was close enough to be pretty funny.

Maya Rudolph was the best part of this episode. She rules.

I imagined her saying that in a humorless and halting way. It would read as a joke to the audience but just be a statement of fact to her.

This wasn't half bad. Not as polished or funny as a real SV episode but not bad for what amounts to SV fanfiction. Also, clearly written by someone who knows that world very well.

FAC-567 LOL - Now I'm beat!

I just thought that dress was a little bit hooker in Monte Carlo.

It would take about five hundred words to explain why you're wrong and I don't feel like writing them so instead i'll just use these thirty. You're wrong. No offense.

No offense, but if you're still trying to apply reason to a show that routinely uses deliberately involuted dream logic to explore its themes… well, there are four CSIs - enjoy.

It's an interesting thought. I don't know, Bedelia never struck me as mad or especially susceptible to genuine madness. Just cunning/calculating enough to survive a little longer than Hannibal's other victims by being interesting to him, the way all people capable of murder are interesting to him.

If it's not clear, I thought this series finale was genius.
