My quick dirty review of this book: the parts about Danny Torrance as an adult, his addiction, his alienation, and (to a lesser extent) his relationship with Abra Stone were all pretty decent.

The book was...pretty bad. But perhaps the movie will be better?
The first chapter was great. Everything after that was solid shit.
i’m one of those “everything king” readers but lord, the sequel stunk. he really shouldn’t’ve revisited “the shining” - it was perfect as it was.
I didn’t like this book. Is it obligatory that anything Stephen King writes gets made into a movie?
His point about Nicholson playing Jack as too crazy and creepy for the beginning arguably has some validity, but for him to tout the miniseries with the dude from Wings as an improvement makes me think he’s still high out of his mind.
No. Go fuck yourself.
You must be fun at parties.
Tarantino’s a sick fuck and him making a movie about another sick fuck is just something I’m not going to take interest in. Good luck, sick fuck.
While I have slightly more time for Maher than most of you (I think Islam is a shitty religion just like Christianity is a shitty religion) I don’t think anybody woud lose much sleep if he were suddenly yanked off the air, whereas these right-wing bottom dwellers seem positively bedeviled by the loss of their beloved…
The most annoying conservatives AND the most annoying liberals both hate Bill Maher? Well, he must be doing something right.
The show should just die. I know it won’t, due to it still bringing great ratings for AMC, though way less than earlier in its term. It’s out of ideas though, and recycled the same ideas over and over now. If it goes forward with the next comic arc, the Whisperers, it will reach new levels of absurdity, which would be…
Just cancel the fucking show. It’s done nothing but spin it’s wheels since season 2.
I’m a Brit who rarely drinks alcohol socially, and I’ve never had any crap about it. People assume you’re the designated driver, or an alcoholic.
Many are, yeah, there seems to be a slight distrust of people who don’t drink, though why people care so much I can’t explain. In my own experience it’s something which seems to become less frequent the older you get though, I’m in my early forties now and if I’m not in the mood to drink no one questions it.
Analyzing the political ideology of the show, no problem, but that’s not what she does here, she sees the show as a vehicle for her propaganda. You really need to be insane to think that Trump is going to transform the USA in a fanatically religious christian country. This is so detached from reality and the current…
But the Handmaid’s Tale is neither inspired by or exists because of the current American political climate.
I can still enjoy Captain Ron though right?
Its sad how much people pride themselves on their own total inoffensiveness and complete conformity to liberal political orthodoxy to the point they cant even watch a fucking movie.
