Ahahahaha. I haven't had that happen yet. I've had some pretty blow-out arguments on here, and the worst I get is, "you're an asshole."

Someone on Kotaku accused me of having Asperger's the other day because I cited sources.
LOLWUT.
Dogs do actually tell you. They are individuals, and they tell you with their behavior and their non-verbal means of communication (such as body language, barking/whining, appetite, and even physical things like stool quality) what feels right and wrong for them. Besides, working off your own logic, how do you know…
Okay, first: my comment about being able to do the same for humans was more about death with dignity and allowing people to make informed decisions with their doctors about when enough is enough, not about killing off anyone with a disability. I'm not into fucking eugenics.
Hasn't Vince Gilligan literally said as much?
I don't think that you would find someone willing to take you on that bet because it's so glaringly obvious that this person does not have a job in the counseling fields. Especially since he can't understand the basic theme of this show: Walt "broke bad" because deep down, Walt was always a very self-centered,…
I think it's heartless to ask an animal to endure all of this to make a human feel more human. Animals do not understand why we inflict pain on them and the money spent on this sad critter could have been used much more wisely to help dozens of other animals who would enjoy a better life than poor Dunkin. My heart…
Oh I know, I just couldn't help myself this time. Except I don't know that he is a troll. I think he's a somewhat delusional person who comes here to educate us all, rather than comment to have discussion, but does that automatically make him a troll?
Every time you talk about how you work in psych I laugh. If you have to support whatever you're saying with "I work in x field, I have y degree, I AM SMARTER THAN EVERYONE HERE" your argument is bullshit.
Almost every guy wants to be a badass. Anything that stands in the way is a challenge to be conquered, or is someone else's fault. Skyler can't be conquered because she's written to be so utterly human, and in some arenas she's six steps ahead of Walt/Heisenberg whether she knows it or not. She's kind of a buzzkill…
Woah, you have an incredibly sympathetic view of Walt here, and I have to disagree on several points:
Yes, and I would agree with people that Skylar was an obnoxious character in the first three or so seasons when she was dealing with a dying husband who was acting strangely - but since she has discovered what Walter has done her behaviour has been totally understandable and I have developed a lot of empathy for her.…
Does your girlfriend abide Walter choosing to manufacture and sell an incredibly destructive drug like meth to countless other children, and introducing such a violent and unpredictable world into his home and the lives of his own children? 3 1/2 cigarettes smoked to calm your nerves while under extreme stress is…
I'm sure plenty of people genuinely hate the character, but I think her being female amplifies a lot of the hate. People tend to be more critical of female characters, hence why we see so few female anti-heroes. If she screws up or does something bad, it's unforgivable, while a male character would often have a lot of…
Anyone who has been in any fandom (a mostly female space) for more than 5 seconds knows this phenomenon already, very very well. Any female character who exists on a show where a white, male antihero is the primary protagonist gets this treatment. If she calls the dude on his bullshit, she's a nagging harpy who just…
I find that female characters in general tend to be more heavily criticized than male characters. They're typically held to a higher standard in a lot of areas, hence why we see few female anti-heroes. Think about popular male characters, and then think about whether they'd still be popular if they were female.
I love Skyler White. I think if my husband turned out to be a murdering liar who cooks drugs, many of them kids, I'd be a bitch too. I love Walt as a character, but I wouldn't want to be married to him.
I've always been confused by the Skyler hate. I think she reacts in a very understandable way to the circumstances she's been dealt. This notion of her being a "harpy" and a "shrew" is so unreasonable! Of COURSE she's going to freak out about her husband cooking meth and getting embroiled in various criminal…
"Wounded, reactionary defensiveness" is a wonderfully accurate description of a grossly common phenomenon.
